Parent Forum SeptemberFest 2020

Parents and carers of children and young people with a disability were invited to attend range of webinars and workshops during September 2020.

Webinar –  Interoception Parent Booklet / Student Support Services (SSS)

Topic one of the presentation gave participants the opportunity to learn about the Parent and Caregiver Interoception Booklet, which includes activities parents can do at home to help their child deal with big emotions.  Hosted by Ian May, Director, Disability Policy and Programs. Is your young person looking at pathways and options post school?  Participants discuss their experiences and heard about a range of options available. Hosted by Julie Rungie, parent; Annette Creer, Transition Centres and Aaron Bryne, Assistant Director Community and Mainstream Engagement NDIA.

Social Skills- Workshop Presentation

Presented by Libby Brown, Manager SERU, this workshop covered a range of topics including understanding social skills, areas of concern and strategies to enhance social skills in your child.  Participants were asked what three specific points they would like to learn to support their child’s development of their social skills.
