SUMMARY:Inclusive Technology & Learning: Access & Engagement for All
DESCRIPTION:This workshop will explore a range of inclusive technologies that assist students who struggle with comprehending meaningful text and to support them at various stages of the reading and writing process. Participants will learn how a Universal Design for Learning (UDL) approach can provide equitable access for all learners and how educators can embed this in their practice. An extensive range of inclusive technology tools will be explored during the day including the built-in accessibility features of computers and mobile devices\, robust universal design software\, apps and free online literacy support tools. \nInformation regarding accessing the Inclusive Technology Service\, and its role in supporting sites to implement these technologies will also be included. DESCRIPTION:Clicker 8 is the latest version of this ever-perennial literacy support tool. For many years\, its features have enabled students of all abilities build independence and experience success in the writing process. Participants will be guided through the literacy scaffolding tools\, including the new document analytics tools and the Cloze feature. Differentiated clicker sets will be created using templates and by re-purposing existing Learning Grids resources.
